The sad part in all this is he will still have opportuniy to get out of the hole he's dug...I suppose he deserves it, it just doesn't seem fair that a man could be given so many chances , given the world....and fvck up the way he has...

Its now or never, Tyson could become the underdog who people will start pulling for , its human nature to root on the old superstar who's nearing the end of his rope...

The man is now fighting for his life, interesting isn't it?

I am neither a fan of Tyson's nor a detractor. I admire what he accomplished in the ring--he was arguably the most feared man in the history of sports and dominated for years before Holyfield could even give him a real challenge. But we all know what a freak show he became once the $$ and fame kicked in.

What I try to keep in mind is that I don't know if any of us average Joes can fathom what it is like to be him (or any megacelebrity for that matter). You grow up fighting for your life on the street, missing meals, living in a shack, starving to survive.....and suddenly there are cameras and paparazzi in your face at every turn, people treating you like a god, more $$ than you ever thought you'd see, false friends coming from everywhere wanting their "piece" of you.

It's little wonder that so many superstars, sports or otherwise, turn into alcoholics, druggies, and even suicidal basket cases with psychoses, eating disorders, etc.

"There but for the grace of God go I."

Now, all of that being said, Tyson probably will get SMOKED Friday, but he gets a paycheck for stepping into the ring, and that is probably his goal at this point.

There was not a nickel worth of difference between his "rape" situation and that of Kobe "Give me the ball cause its all about me" Bryant.

Glamorous Hollywood Kobe is getting "STAR" treatment and Mike was treated like a common thug!

Not saying who did what... Just talking about lack of fairness and justice!

I think it could be the medication he's on too...why he has so many moods, the guy is not wrapped tight but in some ways very likeable.....

I still remember when Roy Firestone use to interview Mike on his ESPN show, and Tyson would be sitting there talking with Roy wearing a nice sweater, all friendly as can be, humble even.....then you think of the lunatic biting ears and saying he'll '"eat your children"

....Its uninmaginable what goes on in his head..

I watched a story on him back in the day on espn. It didn't really favor Tyson nor did it downgrade him. The facts came out =

Tyson was taken out of reform school by boxing trainer Cus D'mato. Cus saw the potential in this troubled kid and knew what he could become if given the right influence and training. Cus D'Amato's tragic death from pneumonia in 1985 was a big blow to Mike Tyson. The only thing keeping Mike Tyson on the road is one of his co-managers at the time B.Jacobs after the passing of Cus D'mato. Mike Tyson unloaded all his losses and frustration on M.Sphinx in 1987. That was as good as it got. Then Jacobs died. His wife at the time Givens actually had the nerve to call and say I'm Mrs. Mike Tyson and im taking over. From that point on, this sad story began.

This man had all the potential to be the greatest boxer EVER. In 1989-90 he was the man. Even more so then Michael Jordan. But he was on medication. People who go off and on most medication tend to lose focus. (Holyfield)

The loss to Buster Douglas really set back Tyson, and in a symbolic type of way it really was open season on Tyson. The people who treated him in the corner didn't help his cause neither the people he had around him from 91 till present. There was no Cus D'mato or K.Rooney or B.Jacobs. The people who were treating his left eye, were treating it with a bag of tap water in the loss to Douglas. Really was the craziest crap I have ever seen. But once Tyson's invisibility was shattered, it was like humpty dumpty. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldnt put Mike Tyson back together again.

In being Mike Tyson who would you of trusted? Who do you trust? The people don't want to get to know Tyson the person, they are attracted and want to get to know "Iron" Mike Tyson.
